Kelly wanted to ride Red before she put her student Sara on him. He hadn't been ridden since the stable opened so she didn't want him to be too fresh the next day. Seeing that there were already people in the dressage ring, she chose to ride in the indoor arena. Kelly did a quick warmup with the draw reins and then took them off for the riding. Red was very calm, and pretty responsive; a good horse to use for assessing Sara. Kelly asked for simple level two movements. She did collected and extended work, the shoulder in, and some leg yielding. She also asked for a few flying changes at "x". Red was a good lesson horse, but depending on Sara's level, he may not suit her in the future. Kelly cooled him off and brought him to his stall for the night.
