It was Kelly's first ride at Whisper Creek on her new horse Rio. Rio had the conformation to become a grand prix horse but Kelly didn't know how far she would bring him before she sold him.
She first lunged him for ten minutes so he could get out some energy, then she mounted up. She rode him in a snaffle, he wasn't a high enough level to ride in a double bridle yet. Kelly did a simple ride, she did some collection, extension and lots of circles. She felt out all his gaits and then got off. The next day, his training would really start. She was just getting him used to a new stable but he didn't seem phased at all- it was such a break from her stallion and Freezie.

Kelly decided to have a morning ride on Rio. She already trusted him quite a bit. Today she was going to work on half passing and shoulder in as well as a lot of collection. She did a log warm up and then started the half pass. She got him to extend more and move off his hind end more. Then she did some shoulder in and collected trot and canter.
